Trick Or Treat

I hope you are having a fun halloween.

And the best costume I saw last night.  You know I love balloons...

Photobooth Anyone?

I love a photobooth, but I really love a photobooth with props!  It makes all the difference in the fun factor category.  And these party on a stick accessories by Little Retreats are some of the cutest I've seen.

I think the bowties (luckily my husband wears them often, the real thing of course) and the pouty lips are my favorites?  Which are yours?

Trunk Club

Have you all heard about Trunk Club yet?  It's a new clothing service that is reinventing the way men shop.  You get set up with personal stylists who pick out clothes based on your preferences, size, and budget.  Then they organize it in a trunk and ship it straight to you to decide what you want to keep and what you don't.  Brilliant.  If you're out of state (they're based in Chicago) the shipping is free.
They focus on casual/business casual clothes by top designer brands like Ben Sherman, AG, and John Varvatos.  Check out their Nightline segment video to see more of how it works.
I love to shop (obvious?), but even I think this would be nice to get for my husband...

If you're interested email Anne at Anne@trunkclub.com.

Thread Social Spring 2011

is up!  And ohhh is it good! I want all of these pretties.
Psssst.  That one there on the right- the blazer is attached to the skirt, brilliant.

100 Followers And Kickin' Breast Cancer

I just want to sincerely thank each of you for supporting my blog.  The past 7 weeks have been so awesome and I have you all to thank for it.  I was pretty darn excited when I saw that I had hit 100 followers (and counting).  I feel blessed to have you all join me in my daily musings.  You all rock- consider this a big, warm cyber hug!

Now for a much more important message- my mother in law sent me this video and I feel compelled to share in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  About 135 former cheerleaders got together to do a dance routine to benefit "Susan G. Komen for the Cure".  These ladies got down and had a good time.

Each time someone views the video United Healthcare will make a $.10 donation to the Komen organization.  Their goal is to get a million hits, which will lead to $100k raised.

Want to be a part of this?  Just watch the video!

Halsea Luggage

I usually lean toward plain travel gear, but Halsea's relaxed and playful luggage and accessories collection has caught my eye.
That little girl's lunch tote would be a hit in any lunchroom.
And I'm especially loving this roller duffle.

The stripes of red definitely do it for me.

A Well Styled Mudroom

Speaking of mudrooms, this one fits the bill.  The white beadboard, leaning framed photos, the perfectly arranged wall art, the chalkboard easel, striped rug, tiny window, basket storage...  I'll stop now.

Did I mention the large letter "H"?  I love that too.  Everyone seems to be decorating with letters these days.  (Lilly has an "L" on her wall in her nursery)  I ran across these yarn covered letters and find them to be uber adorable.

How cute would that 'stached "G" be in a little boy's room?!  You can purchase your own at the Cranny shop.

A Framed Card Holder

While flipping through the new Pottery Barn magazine yesterday I came across their new framed card holder

It's a lot like a great display idea I just saw on 6th Street Design School's good design kids in mind series.

Which got me thinking...I (read- my husband) could easily make a diy version of this frame for a lot less.  It would make a fabulous display for Lilly's art, pretty invititations and cards, photos...  I already have a spot chosen for it in my mudroom.  Will keep you all posted.

Vintage Magazine Covers

If you were to visit my home you would notice that there are some blank walls that could use a little something.  This is because I try to only hang wall decor that I really love it.  I would rather stare at a blank wall and envision what could go there rather than stare at something and feel indifferent about it.  I guess I love "the search".
I have had the Conde Nast Store bookmarked for a few months now.  Did you know they sell magazine cover art prints that date back to the 1910s? You can find various covers of Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamour, Living, Mademoiselle, and Charm, among others.  Most of my favorites are from Vogue

If you'd like to see more check out their store.

Etsy Favorites

Etsy is one of my favorite places to browse.  Today I'm sharing a few of my favorites and some new finds.
If I were to use a cozy for my morning cup, I'd use this.

Loving this bright and cheery vintage tray.

A perfect pillow for a child with her head in the clouds.

Love this porcelain vase with carved lace design.

A simple and calming handwritten calendar.

I've delighted in these coverall hats for awhile now.

These mini canvas prints would be a perfect touch to a bookcase.

Winter Water Factory

My cousin in law has a great children's textiles company called Winter Water Factory.  They believe in creating high quality fabrics with the planet in mind, so their designs are printed on really soft organic cotton.  Good stuff people.  The clothing line is both practical and stylish.

They've recently added a line of coordinating crib and bedding sets too.  And it just got picked up by The Land of Nod.  Pretty cool, huh?!

There's more to see on the Winter Water Factory website.  Go look.
