In The House

If you're looking for some good weekend reading, look no further than the web's newest online mag, House of Fifty.  It's my friend Janell's baby, and the premiere issue is GOOD!

If you haven't checked it out yet, you'll want to click through stat!  The magazine covers a plethora of great topics like fashion...

Interiors...

Organizing...

Children...

And even recipes...

Surely all topics that interest you savvy and pretty readers.

I asked Janell just one question (she's a busy woman after all):

LLL: What did you do once you completed your first issue?

Janell: "I slept in.  Anyone who read my blog knows I get up at 5 a.m. to get a chunk
of work done before the kids get up, so sleeping in is a big deal for me!"

Well deserved, Janell!  Go see the premiere issue of House of Fifty!  And be sure to read The Letter From the Editor... good and inspiring stuff right there.

Over At Pretty Mommy's

Today I'm over at Pretty Mommy's Blog talking about

My Everyday Home Obsessions.

Hope you pop over and have a looksie.  And while you're there give Michelle a
big hug of thanks for the 15% off discount code to her shop that she gave you all last week.
Sounds like a lot of you got some goodies!

PS: Isn't that watercolor drawing of an adorably pregnant Michelle and her daughter just the most?! Caroline over at It Looks Good to Me illustrated that for Michelle.  So cool!

Sally Benedict Show + Surprise

I about fell over when I received this hand delivered and beautifully packaged gift from artist Sally King Benedict.

{Even I'm amazed at my restraint to stop and take a photo before opening!}  Isn't that mixed media painting absolutely amazing??!  I was blown away by Sally's generosity.  And talent.  It's no secret that her art is pretty much tops in my books.  So I'm beyond thrilled to have my first piece of work by her.

For now it's sitting among some other pretty things in our family room (Josh lovingly refers to this as "the wall of Lilly"), though I'm not quite sure this will be it's permanent spot.

{sorry this is blurry, you would think with such a nice camera I would actually know how to use it!}

Sally is a doll.  And I cannot wait to attend her art show at Stems downtown (it's just 3 weeks away!)  Her whole collection will be outstanding.

{titled Garden Club}

Hope to see some of  you there.

Tucker Luncheon Recap

As promised, here are some photos from the Tucker Luncheon at Hampden Clothing last week.

The place was rocking some prints - mad, fun prints!

Here I am on the left.  That's Gaby in the white suit.

And lastly the shorts that I bought!  Love that they're kinda unexpected cool.

Watercolor Wednesday

I don't have any framed maps in my home, but this watercolor beauty by Michael Tompsett is making me rethink that.

Monday Greetings!

How was your weekend?  Mine was absolutely amazing.  I went out dancing with friends Friday night, went to the beach with family and friends Saturday, tried a great restaurant with friends Saturday night, and of course had fun Easter festivites Sunday.  Whew, I'm kinda exhausted.  Lilly was on such a high.  Check her out hunting those eggs!

{Isn't Lil' cute in her Winter Water Factory dress?!  Josh's cousin in law, Margaret, designs for them and sent her a few adorable dresses that we love!}

And speaking of the beach- Lilly has some great swimsuits, but I want to also get her one of those shirt like swimsuits to protect her on long days at the beach and pool.  I saw a cute suit at Boden, but I'm not head over heels.  I also found some cute ones over at Janie & Jack but they don't have her size.  Anyone have other suggestions?

Aaaaand speaking of the pool, I'm definitely whipping up these frozen grape kabobs for our next pool party.  Don't they look delish for a hot day?!

Alright, that's enough randomness for one post.  Thanks for hanging in there for me.

Look At You & Your Fancy Self

{Card by Papyrus, thanks to my beautiful friend Reagan for sending!}

Right though?!  I just laughed and laughed at this.  So here's to getting all gussied up and celebrating what really matters.  As for me, we'll be celebrating over brunch with family followed by an Easter egg hunt for my girl (b/c you remember she OWNS egg hungs, wink)!  Hope your weekend is as beautiful as mine has been.  Much love, kisses, and hugs forever and ever.

I Might Be On A Red Kick, But...

I think these sandals by Mango are quite rad.

I really like the green version too.

Some Friday Thoughts

Okay, so maybe this was me yesterday at the Luncheon.

{via Bluntcard}

I was the first one at our table to finish my plate (not surprised, right?).  The food was that good, and the Tucker collection was even better.  Gaby Basora and her associate Sarah were amazingly graceful and kind.  I was lucky enough to be seated at the same table as them, and I was a little in awe of Gaby and how down to earth she is.  She even mentioned getting together for a drink while I'm in NYC next month (I'll be calling for sure - hope she doesn't regret that one, wink!).  And however I ended up walking out with only one item is beyond me - blasted {oh yeah, that's b/c I just went on a shopping spree in CO and picked up that smokin' hot red clutch}!  But it really was such a lovely time.  Once I can get my eyes on the photos the photographer took I'll be sure to share here on the blog!

Bravo to the girls at Hampden.  What a beautiful and successful day!

A Few Fun Things

I have a few fun things to share today.  So let's jump right in, shall we?

Today I'll be attending a luncheon in honor of Gaby Basora, the designer behind Tucker, at Hampden Clothing.  I feel ridic fortunate to have been invited.  You all know my love for Tucker's collections (as seen wearing it here at Charleston Fashion Week), so I'm beyond thrilled to get to meet Gaby in person today!

If you're in Charleston, stop by Hampden Clothing on King St. today from 2 - 7pm for the Tucker Trunk Show with items designed exclusively for Hampden!!

Next up on the list... I broke down and ordered it...

Yep, I decided this red Clare Vivier clutch had to be mine.  And guess what...

Michelle at Pretty Mommy Shop is giving all of my readers
15% off any order
good through Sunday night, April 24th.

Just enter "LLL" when you check out.

So you can have one too :)  Michelle carries Clare Vivier, Lizzie Fortunato, Ace & Jig, Laura Lombardi and more.  (Psst, there is also a 25% off $150 or more over at her shop!)

Lastly, yesterday I vistied my girl Michelle over at Ten June and participated in her "Genie Series".  Admittedly, looking up Italian properties was tempting, but I knew I'd waste too much time dreaming.  I think you'll like what I came up with anyway.  Here's just a little glimpse.

Go check it out!  Pretty please :)

Nice Outfit

Yesterday on Greedy Girl, Caroline reminded me of the shop Bona Drag.  It had escaped from my radar, and I was pleased to visit it's spirited collection of fashions.  Adoring these cut aways.

Oh, and did you know the term "Bona Drag" means "nice outfit" in Polari?

What's Polari you ask?

It was a secrect language used by the gay culture in London in the 1960's.

Don't ever say you never learned anything on LLL.  And here are a few pretties for all my fellow asymmetrical lovers out there.

So, who knows Polari?!  Show me what you got!

Easter Chic

I'm not hosting Easter this year, but if I were I would like to think that the table would be a mix of these two looks.

But who am I kidding, I'd be lucky to get a tablecloth down.  I'd also find the time to whip up these glitter confetti Easter eggs (aka caskarones - mini pinatas for your head) to shower over all of my guests for good luck.  Right, I'd get to that too... no problem.

Pretty Smitten... Still!

My girl Elizabeth over at Pretty Smitten Shop has been staying very busy.  No surprise...

Because her stuff rocks!

SO thrilled to see she's now carrying striped straws.  Who doesn't love a striped straw?!  And for $4 per pack of 25, it's a no brainer.  She has loads of color options too.

Oh, and she added cupcake wrappers, twine, and treat bag toppers to her store as well!

So if you have a party coming up, go visit Pretty Smitten and load up on all the cute little party details that make the event special!  And don't worry, there are tons of fun motifs, themes, patterns, fonts, and colors to personalize your party items.

Happy planning!
