You all might remember that I mentioned I'm contributing to Charleston Magazine's new site, Charleston Grit. Well the launch party was last week (SO much fun!) and while I was there I met another Grit contributer, interior designer Cortney Bishop. The next morning a few images of her work showed up in my inbox and well I just have to share. (Btw I get a load of stuff in my inbox and I rarely ever do anything with it so this is legit good stuff ya'll.) Seeing as how I'm in the middle of the renovation of our next home, I'm all about some pretty design inspiration.
Sweetest little girly bedroom...
Love the oversized photograph.
And I pretty much adore everything about this office.
Have any of you started planning for your fall wardrobe? If you're ahead of the curve you purchase spring and summer items with fall in mind. Well, last week I had the pleasure of joining The Fashion Group International of Charleston for their review on 2012'a Fall/Winter Runway Trends.
Following the presentation of the 2012 Fall/Winter runway shows, Stacy Smallwood was asked what she plans to bring to her clients in her Hampden Clothing store. Among her answers were the color burgundy, leather leggings, longer hem lines, print on print suits, and colorful statement necklaces.
While running out for some pressed powder and a new lipstick yesterday evening I dropped into Ann Taylor (one of my new regular drop in spots since they revamped their image and opened up at the shopping center right by my house). My friend Natalie had told me about their 40% off sale. Off you entire purchase that is. And no, you don't need to be a card member.
There are so many cute things in their current collection, and I came home with this Spotted Peplum Dressthanks to the 40% promo! Let me tell you that this is the most flattering dress you've put on in years. Being that I just had a baby, I have a "soft body" :) and this dress is the perfect thick stretchy material that sucks you in and smooths you out. I feel like a freaking goddess in this dress. I haven't showered yet today (or I would have put it on for these pictures & none of you deserve to see that mess....) But here it is. Go buy it. Trust me.
And look, the dress has an adorable subtle peplum :) It's so freaking cute and I'll be wearing it year round. And fyi if you order, I bought the petite and a size down.
More pretties that are deserving of your closets...
And did you see that Kate Hudson is their new brand ambassador? She's so gorgeous.
So they just extended this 40% promotion and for all I know it could end in like an hour because it was supposed to end Sunday night. So go now!
My girl Sarah's still knocking out enchanting spaces. Such a talent she is. You can have her help you too with her E Design Boards. You and your home would be the bomb. And I hope you regularly check her $10 painting shop b/c she's constantly adding pretty new originals!
More and more of Kokoon's new spring arrivals keep pouring in and they are simply gorgeous. I have so many pieces on my wish list (which is a major wish list because of this home renovation...). And even more exciting, very soon Kokoon will be launching a shopping website! BIG. Look out for a fun giveaway from Kokoon soon :)
Major news. Bellisima's owner, Sabrina (along with her family), was just featured in May's Ebony Magazine. Her story runs on page 125 and she shares her empowering and personal story of managing motherhood, homeschooling her children, caring for a special needs child, running a small business (hello Bellisima Baby Bags!) all while attending college. Go girl.
If you haven't lately, go check her shop (which is getting a makeover very soon). Today starts her Mother's Day special (it ends April 26th) for 30% off any JP Lizzy diaper bag on her Bellisima Baby Bags site!
Spoleto Scene just hosted their annual Kickoff Party this past week. A good time was had by all, and when I say "all" I mean all the beautiful people. Geesh that's a good looking group. If you're looking for a good reason to visit Charleston (I know a lot of you are b/c I get your emails) well then the end of April through mid May would be a fun time to come down with Spoleto going on. And for those of you who are looking to get involved and meet people (again I know you're out there because of your emails), well join Scene. Despite supporting a great cause, you'll get ticket discounts and meet a ton of people.
It's safe to say that a ga-zillion of you nearly died over these bad ass striped rug runners. Too bad they were in some far off land (Copenhagan). :) WELL, Amber just got some in her Shoppe!! So go get your rug on.
And hey all you expecting Mommas, Casi shared a really cute maternity style post featuring style bloggers on Babble. I'm honored to be included. There are some amazing outfits (and ladies) over there, so if you're expecting, go take a peek. I'll always love this photo of Sydney from The Daybook...
I have a major decision to make. The really awesome kind that I feel super lucky to get to make. You see, Rugs USA wants to give me a rug. Yep, I get to pick out a rug, let it live in my house, and review it for you all. I know, lucky. Especially considering that we're currently renovating a new house -- aka I need some more rugs!!
So I've been spending a lot of time perusing their collections. I didn't think I'd have such a hard time making a decision. There are a lot of pretties over there.
These kind of make me weak in the knees as I'm all about the saturated rug right now. Right now Rugs USA is having a 35% off sale so you could get one of these Winsdor Overdyed Grove rugs in the 8x10 size for under $400. Take that Anthropologie! :)
Seriously, all amazing. And they all come in a lot of different colors and sizes. There are a ton more pretty rugs on their site too. I'm leaning towards putting this rug in the kids' playroom. It'll be right off of the main living area of our new home, so it needs to look pretty.
Which one do you think I should pick? And let's talk about how awesome Rug USA is!
