My Boobie Revelation

I kind of feel like I've been doing it all wrong the past 15 or so years. I've always assumed that since I have a large chest that I needed big bras that could support me and help shape. Fuck that y'all. They've been making me look bigger than necessary, as much as I hate to admit it. You can't even walk into Victoria's Secret and find a bra that doesn't have those big molded cups anymore. Where are the thin and slimming bras???

So, we've all been seeing these little lace bralettes. To be honest I had just written them off for me, assuming they wouldn't work for my big chest. But I decided to give one a try. And what do you know, it's changed my boobie world. I now own 4 of these lace style bralettes in a lot of pretty colors.

I don't usually go on and on about a bra. But this needs to be shouted to the world, especially considering it's summer and we're all wearing little tanks and tops that show a lot. Like it or not, pretty bras with pretty straps are kind of important. More importantly, it just makes me feel happy to finally have pretty bras.

These scalloped lace bralettes above are from Urban Outfitters and I love them a whole lot. They actually hold me in, have adjustable straps (key for support if you have big knockers), stay cool in warm weather, and look good under most all of my clothes! They're only $25, freaking cheap for a bra.

It will change the way you look at your boobs, y'all. I can't stress it enough. Maybe I don't need a reduction after all? Happy bra shopping.

OK this is hilarious. Are they comfortable? I ordered one from Shopbop one time and the lace was NOT soft enough. Maybe I'll try the UO ones!

When you have such a revelation, you have to share these things with the word-work it gurl.

i need to try these! i have been having such a hard time trying to find bras that are not padded. and don't even get me started on swimsuits.

I love lace bralettes and those are BEAUTIFUL!!! love them!

I know exactly what you mean. I hate Victoria's Secret--everything is so heavily padded. Why would anyone with a bigger chest want to add more bulk? Bathing suits drive me nuts too! Thanks for sharing.

As a busty girl myself, this post just made my day - I also never thought I could wear anything like these. Thank you for sharing all of your finds-I'll be off to Urban Outfitters shortly to check these out!

Hold the phone. We have to discuss this at length...and SOON.

I'm curious now - I hate regular sports bras and what I call "uniboob sweat" but underwires all the time not always comfortable. Do these bras lift and separate so that it's not an issue?

Chassity (Look Linger Love) said...

I think they're pretty comfortable (though after 10 hours I would probably be ready to take it off). The lace is thick enough to disguise THO and I don't have an issue with uniboob!

Those UO bras are one of my favorites!!! I love how versatile they are!!! And Amen on the Victoria's secret thing, I never go in there anymore b/c of that!!

Which one do you have besides the 3 from Urban Outfitters? I'm not a fan of UO (just a personal preference), but I'd seriously love a few of these. I'm pretty sure this is my fav post you have written!

I am glad that someone asked your bra size because I was afraid to in case you thought I was a creeper! I am definitely going to check these out, I am tired of the 1940s support wear pointy boob options for larger chests.

Thank you for this post! After recently having a baby, stopping breastfeeding, and my new, bigger, pancake boobs, I thought these cute options were out for me. And, hopefully they will be cute when wearing my favorite v-neck t-shirts and holding a toddler on my hip which always results in the side pull/bra show...
Just discovered your blog, and it makes me long for Charleston again (we recently moved away.. :( )

My biggest fear is having big mama bra straps. For real. It haunts me. I think about having a reduction/lift pretty much every day of my life, so this little glimmer of hope makes me happy. I'm so getting one. (or twenty)

This kind of blows my mind. And I'm not sure if I believe it. But I am going to trust you and try one. If you change my boobie world, you are going to be my best bosom buddy 4L.

OK, you have me sold! So excited about this - never thought I'd be able to get away with one of these pretty little bralettes. Will let you know how it goes! ;)
