What Men Want You To Wear... Gag Me

Let me vent for a day, please? I'm so sick of seeing this kind of headline "What Guys Really Want You To Wear" or "What Guys Don't Like To See Women Wear". I'm sorry, but who gives a flying ****?

How about we all just wear what we want to wear, what makes us feel good. We only live once (and it's a quick life), so let's just have fun with our wardrobe and not over think this. Do you think my husband likes everything in my closet? Nope, not at all. But he knows that dressing up is fun for me. And if I'm having fun in what I'm wearing then that makes me a more fun person to be around. And well isn't that the whole point anyway? To enjoy life?

I asked Josh what he thought of this dress. He said it looks stupid and like she's a bullfighter. Well you know what, I love it. And so does she. And she's enjoying it, see that little smirk on her face? Go her.

Okay, glad we had this chat. Now let's not worry about what anyone else thinks of our clothes (men OR women). Hopefully, none of you cared anyway!

Need a little more inspiration? Just go see the Man Repeller, of course!

HaHaHa this is so true, if we all wore what men wanted us to wear we'd be "only" in lingerie and white tight shirts with no bras.... ;)

Preach it! I agree--it drives me crazy too. I always think--who wants to wear what other people want them to wear. If my husband dressed me---I am afraid to even think. ;) Haha. But--it is so true--if I feel good about what I am wearing, then I agree with what you said, I do just feel better--and i am more fun.

Absolutely LOVE this! Couldn't agree more!!!!

Could not agree more! Matt hates 90 percent of what is in my closet. He would love me to wear polos and pearls everyday-gag so not me. So I proudly wear what I love and makes me happy.

GAH, I love this post! I've also seen the ones about how guys think you should wear your hair or makeup...really, people?!

Good for you, I didn't care and won't. My husband doesn't care for MOST of my closet but he married me anyway even if when we met he told his sister I dressed "weird"!

Agreed on everything you just said! My husband does the same thing with certain outfits I step out wearing but hey I love it and 9 times out of 10 someone will come up to me and say "I love your outfit". That's the best because I will look at him and he just smirks because he thought I was the crazy one picking that outfit.

p.s. I love her dress. I think it's beautiful and anyone that would put that dress on would feel sexy and feminie.

Keep up the inspiring posts!

Speak it, sista!!! it's hard dressing how you want sometimes tho when you're going somewhere where NO ONE will be dressed in anything adventurous! what I've learned tho, is most people appreciate it and are usually thinking, "I wish I had the nerve to wear that!" I hate when people say, 'I could never pull that off!' Of course you can!!! Look, now you've got me ranting! ;)

What do men know anyway? Jake hates so many of the FABULOUS things in my closet! I just tell him he has no artistic talent so why should I listen to him. If men had it their way, we probably wouldn't be wearing clothes at all! :-)

Hahaha! A bullfighter! I think you either dress for men or dress for fashion...it's hard to do both unless you are wearing like a slinky Dolce dress or something!! Great post!! xox

Oh my gosh, I really love this post. You are so right - when you're happy with what you're wearing, you're in a better mood -- everyone wins! This post makes me want to wear pajamas to work. Gosh, I wish that was socially acceptable. :)

Really well said, very to the point, we don't dress for men or just others...sometimes...but we do it for ourselves.
You made a good point ...sometimes forgotten by many people...

Oh hell to the yes!! Seriously, why do we have to care??? I can't tell you how many times I get asked "you aren't wearing *that*, are you?" or "Seriously, you can't wear that" and it doesn't make a dang bit o' difference to me. Thank goodness. On the other hand, I definitely love a "Oh babe, you look *HOT*" every once in a while, too (c:

Preach, sister! I really think most women dress for other women - we appreciate true fashion way more than men ever do! My husband doesn't understand half the things I buy, and he never will :)

I completely agree. I get so annoyed when I see the covers of women's magazines. It's so degrading that all over our mags it talks about how to get this guy/how to get slimmer/how to please a man etc. If you look at men's magazines, it's not all about women. I'm so glad you brought up this topic and shared your opinion on it!

I don't even know where to begin!!!!!!!! So flippin' true. I am 100% about confidence and feeling good. If you wear it and own it while doing so than enough said. Laughing too, as I designed a few dresses in college and one totally looked like that with the long train! Granted it was emerald green, but I loved that dress.

I always want my husband to like what I buy b/c he has to look at it (more often than me). That being said if I LOVE an item and he's not into it I'll still make the purchase. Maybe I save it for girls night. But most of the time once he sees me in it he changes his mind :-)
