A Little Maternity Styling

Last week the girls at Hampden Clothing (one of my favorite downtown Charleston shops) asked me to come in and style some bump friendly outfits.   Since I come from the camp that subscribes to buying as little actual maternity clothes as possible, I was happy to stop in and play.

We put together 7 "Wear Your Baby Bump Well" looks in total that Hampden is sharing over on their blog.  Outfits range from a playdate in the park, a doctor's visit (b/c any woman who has been pregnant knows it's important to dress lightly for that scale!), to a date night.  They even included shopping clickables for everything you see me wearing in the photos.

And the girls at Hampden were sweet enough to give me a very generous gift certificate to do a little shopping.  I came home with this Opening Ceremony Bow Plaid top.  Love it!  I'll definitely be able to wear this after baby boy arrives too.

So if you'd like to see more of the styling session, visit Hampden's Blog.
Thanks girls!

My New Style Crush?

She's gorgeous, has a quirky sassiness, and holds a melon ball for a belly.  Seriously though, whether you're pregnant or not, there is just no denying Sydney's adorable style.  That girl sure wears her baby bump well!

Is she not the cutest??  I'm feeling all baby bump sparkly & inspired.  Check out Sydney's blog The Daybook to see more.  And major thanks to Eileen from A Creative Day for giving me the scoop on Sydney.  Where have I been??

Pregnancy: Halfway Point!

Today marks the 20th week of our pregnancy, woohoo!  Feels good to be halfway there.  Overall, I'm feeling well and shouldn't complain about a thing considering how some pregnancies are hit with 40 weeks of nausea. But I did think it would be fun to do a little post commemorating the day.  So here are some things that popped to mind when I thought of my pregnancy this go around.

*Me at 20 weeks, in a blue APL dress for my little boy! (I don't think my belly looks very big here. Some days it looks bigger, funny how that is.)
*Callies Biscuits - Major weakness for what I call the most amazing little biscuits you'll ever have. So many flavors. Made here in Charleston, & they ship!
*Tane Organics - Loving this line of luxurious children's clothes.
*Tucker dress - Bump friendly, I have my eye on you!
*The Help - I just finished this fabulous book.
It's been great for all the laying around I've been doing.
*Brigatta nightstand - I think this could be perfect tucked in the nursery.

The Idea Of The Century

When you're pregnant, you don't want to be confined to shopping maternity clothes alone.
Can I get an Amen?!

When I was pregnant with Lilly I tried to shop very inexpensively and non-maternity by just shopping at normal stores but going up a size.  I had a lot of luck at Francesca's b/c it was close to home, reasonably priced, and since I wasn't buying for the long haul the quality wasn't as big of a deal.  I always felt a little bad for the teenagers in there shopping with their moms when they would see me, I know I totally ruined their game making them think it was for "old women"!

But Francesca's just added a great new shopping tool to their website - Baby BumpsThey've put all of their baby bump friendly items in this section to make for easy shopping.  I guess I wasn't the only expectant momma perusing their store.

This idea is brilliant.  Even more than brilliant, it's brillz!  EVERY store should be doing this.

Do you hear me J.Crew??

Maternity Roundup For The Holidays

Because the pregnant Momma's need to look good at the holiday parties too!

Harvey Faircloth (sorry for photo quality)

More of Me Maternity (I'd pair with some knit tights!)

And because you especially have to concentrate on accessories while expecting, and a bow is never out of place during the holidays...
